Hi guys, this is what Argos told me when i first asked about the stock before things got hectic, might not be as reliable now but gives people a rough estimate. (Console on its own) ‘we are due more stock of the of 207/7921 around 15/04/2020 and 207/8126 around 24/04/2020’

Does anyone think is worth for me to cancel the order? I got a pre-order from Smyths today, which has been delayed, but I do not see any hopes for the Argos being delivered on the 9th or 10th as Nintendo's couriers are prioritising essential goods over the delivery of the consoles. The bundle is a bit overpriced as well and I feel cheated 😬

I’d 100% wait to see which one comes first! Or Maybe wait till the smyths one gets dispatched and then you know it’s on it’s way and the money will be taken out then. I’m in the same boat rather not be over charged however I’m not risking anything because they are legit gold dust 😭😂 and I didn’t manage to get a pre order one so I’m stuck with over priced bundle ☹️

It was for the super mario bundle ordered on the 27th and it was a message off the facebook support chat after i asked them about whether it might get delivered before the 30th. They just sent a short reply saying that on their system the supplier now showed a delivery date of the 9th of April 😀

I wouldn't read too much into those dates. They're likely just to keep customers happy - they've moved the date twice already. With the current situation, they probably can't a really accurate idea.

I’m putting a complaint in as soon as it arrives at my door lol nbf but Argos shouldn’t have been selling stock they don’t have in the first place, if they were doing this they should’ve just advertised the stand alone switch rather than marking it out of stock, leading customers to spend more on a bundle Cos they think they’ll get it quicker

I’ve just had a Twitter DM from Argos after asking for help and this is the reply I received “ I am sorry this has taken time to respond. We are experiencing an unprecedented level of messages at this time. We are aiming to get back to all our customers as fast as we can. I have looked at this for you, at the moment we have an expected delivery date from the supplier of 10/04. -Kerry” so hopefully our orders should be here soon then

Yeah I had a reply messenger and this is what they said to me "It says the following: Promised date: 10th April Backorder date: 9th April Item status: items are on backorder This means that we are due the stock on the 9th, so it will be delivered either the 9th or the 10th."

10th and 13th are bank holidays so likely be the 14th which may be where their backtracking has stemmed from and why other places are quoting 14th.

So I interrogated Nintento UK. Yes I did not give up. I asked them why they did not have a date for when their own product was coming. They said the head office instructs them. I then brought up the question "Well Smyths toys predict 6th to 11th april, so how are 3rd party able to predict it, but nintendo store themselves cannot?" They replied "We do know roughly when they are coming, but we won't disclose it until we have the exact date, the only thing I can tell you, is it's definitely April."

I can back up what Nintendo UK are saying. I've have had a previous meeting with their UK marketing guys who said the same, that they don't literally know what stock they will be getting until they hear from the head office in Germany that morning.

So I had some time on my hands (you know, because of the lockdown haha) and investigated Argos' supplier Centresoft. On their website, I looked at the products they supply and it says that the Nintendo Switches are "On Order", meaning that even them are waiting for their supplier (Nintendo UK) to supply them so that eventually they can deliver it to us on behalf of Argos. I also checked their business partners who are also suppliers and on the Nintendo Switch they also have the same "On Order" label. So many layers in this but now I am not that eager to cancel because it all depends on Nintendo UK 😂 . So I assume that every other shop is in the same situation with their supplier, since the main one is Nintendo UK (unless they have stock from the last supply), and as soon as they release more Nintendo Switches, they will eventually be delivered to us. The question is how long it will take.

Also, I had a look at the Nintendo UK website and for the neon Nintendo Switches it says: "Stock due to dispatch: Friday 13th March 2020". I believe they haven't changed the date since then but on the grey one it says April 10th. I also checked the neon Nintendo Switches in bundles and those one say April 10th too. So fingers crossed!

I cancelled my order on Wednesday and my refund is back in my account already I managed to get a switch on its own from Tesco extra which is all I wanted to get the bundle is rather expensive considering what you get I only ordered it as it was the only place to have stock.

Just spoke to Argos (after a 45 minute wait) and the lady told me that: 1. They have done a back order with the supplier and that the supplier promised them to get the item delivered on the 10th of April 2. When I said that they sent us a message saying that the item would be delivered on the 30/04, they said that the supplier haven't updated the system yet to say this and Argos was not really aware about this by the tone of her voice 3. She took my contact details and the lady is now going to send the supplier a message to confirm either the 30/04 delivery or an estimated date for the delivery It seems to me like Argos is not at fault, but the supplier for being so ambiguous.

Just got off the phone with Argos, on their system it says the back order date is until the 9th of April, he said we should be receiving delivery dates anytime after then !! He apologised for the misleading text message but apparently this was worst case scenario !!!!!

I ordered an AC switch yesterday for C&C from Asda and got it today the order processed in the morning saying it had been picked and only then was the money taken out. So I think it's only properly reserved if the order has been confirmed to be picked and money taken out. But yeah my collection was successful I hope yours will be too. Also there seem to be quite a few switches neon too in Asda Basingstoke if anyone is interested.

Got in touch with Argos regarding this - for those who were told to expect it by 30 April, this is actually a backorder and the order is to be PROCESSED on 30 April - not delivered. So realistically if you're sticking with this you wont get it til May.

I didnt get the text but I've cancelled anyway as i have smyths pre order and my local Asda is showing one for click & collect on friday. Also when i phoned up to cancel Argos one the lady said "I assume you are cancelling because of the delayed back order" so either they know all of them are delayed or she had spoken to multiple people cancelling the same thing for the same reason.
