So rang my local store to see if it worth while looking In store Tommorow or even this week was told they aren’t expecting any In store “free sale stock “ he said until January , online says december so don’t know worth a try ringing though !

I think they will do click and collect this month and hopefully delivery but won’t have any in store to just go in and buy simply because of COVID and crowds. I will be very surprised if they do!

And like a Pp said, it’d be chaos, people will be so desperate by then no one will care about social distancing and I too can imagine full on fights 😂 I’ll feel sorry for the staff if they have them in to buy !

It is madness if they do not offer click and collect and delivery. As much as I would like to be able to just walk in to a store and buy one it would be carnage! With Covid and the general mentality of people, social distancing and safety would go out of the window and common sense would be gone! Imagine everyone racing on the roads to get to their nearest Smyths if it was in store only! As much as we would want to stop the bots and scalpers from once again lining their greedy pockets I can't imagine a large chain like Smyths being so irresponsible and risk scenes similar to Jingle all the way!! 😄 😉

I called my nearest store and they said they won’t be getting them in store but will be getting some online during December but don’t know if it’s going to be before or after Christmas. Laughed at the comment about Jingle all the way as my husband said I’m going to be like that in a mad hunt for one for my son 🤣🤣

On the digital the “out of stock expected dec” has now gone and add to basket added but none in stock, no change for disk. Keep a close eye tomorrow! Anyone know when smyths restock time wise from past experience?

I am hoping it is soon but we have been given so many b****** times already that I don't think anyone really knows. I think Smyths are keeping this one close to their chest to avoid mayhem on the site and in stores. It is madness the need to refresh every few minutes because we know they will be gone in 3 minutes flat!!

I am seeing lots of unsold ones on Ebay, Sphock and Facebook. If people were that desperate they would all be sold. Maybe people are starting to wise up and refusing to buy from from the gutless, conscience free scalpers. I know people are desperate but don't do it. It may not be before Christmas but there is no point in putting yourself in debt for one. If Sony is serious about it's next batch and we can beat the s*um scalpers then we will get one. I have already told my 15 year old son that he will probably have to wait until after Christmas. He knows demand is high and they are almost impossible to source. I have promised him one as soon as they are available and he is absolutely fine with that. He even told me that if I waste my money buying one from a scalper then he will sell it and give me the money back. What a lad!!

The ones I’ve seen on my local sites have absolutely no comments and all laughing emojis, they probably had a bit of luck with it at the beginning but people are wising up now and it’s calming right down. Suckers

That is great news. I hope it is a large stock drop and that most people who actually want one get one. Really hoping that the people who are just looking to resell them bugger off on this one. They can be selfish idiots next year, it's Christmas, it's been a tough year and if people can afford buy 10 Playstations to resell than they are not exactly hard up are they. Leave them for us parents and real gamers.

I emailed smyths yesterday to see if they could help with information for when their next restock will be. This is what I got back.... “ Please keep an eye on the website for the most up to date stock information. Unfortunately, Customer Service is not aware of future stock updates, such as dates/times stock will replenish” Hope this helps guys

I am hoping Smyths are keeping it close to their chest to avoid a mad rush. They may just drop them quietly and let people find out for themselves. They may also not want to advertise the drop to scalpers who would only buy up all the stock.

I am trying to get hold of the digital ps5 for my son. It's the only thing he has asked for and has saved up half the money for one. I cannot afford the stupid ebay prices. Been on Smyths to check so many times. I really hope I can get him one day or very soon. It's causing me sleepless nights now.

I think the retailers are trying to avoid a panic and rush on their websites and in store. I also think that they are trying to stop scalpers from snatching up all the stock. They don't put updates on this site so I think they will drop them quietly and it'll be first come first serve.

I really want to try Argos, but it seems they still have the same problem of ordering something (anything) and the money being taken but order not going through their end and you have to wait for refund. Happened to me with many things in the summer, can’t believe it still is happening and they haven’t fixed it! make sure you order from a laptop, it only seems to do it via mobile/app

My sister-in-law has just been to the local store (I am at work so couldn't go) to check if they had stock in. The manager there said they are expecting a delivery of Xbox's before Christmas however they aren't expecting any PS5s until after.

I honestly don't think they have a clue, but personally I still feel most sites/big retailers will have one more batch of Ps5's before Christmas.

I feel like online only/click and collect has to be the only way to do this, in store sales would be dangerous due to people being idiots! The downside to online sales then is the threat of scalpers so there's pros and cons to everything here...

Cryerrytiem - I agree but with them changing it to "In Store" on the website it makes me feel like they want to get people in-store, probably so they can try to entice people to buy more accessories or other products as when you're online in this situation people tend to mainline for the PS5 then ignore everything else to ensure they get one.

I went to smyths this morning and they told me they are still waiting to here from Sony when they will have ps5 available, only then will they be available for pre order which could mean days before Christmas but most probably after Christmas 😖

Smyths has stock in stores only. I've been to 2 stores today in leeds and can confirm they have stock for the consoles unless they had empty boxes on shelves behind the counter which i doubt . I checked Crown Point a d Kirkstall. Unfortunately nothing for PC World/Currys.

You might be right. I didnt ask them as i already purchased one on the original preorderes. Its so hard to find the Chargibg station too. Luckily after checking Crownpoint and white rose centre i got hold of the last one in Kirkstall. I orderd from Currys few weeks ago but they ran out of stock and didnt inform me. I called and cancelled that order and they processed me a refund. You have to be early and quick to get hold of anything right now.
