I've pre-ordered one from Smyths but does anyone know if they are guaranteed? it seems bizarre to allow so many people to pre-order and be able to meet the demand of them all. i don't want to stop looking if there's a chance i still might not get one

Rubbish work there, Smyths. Had it in my basket to order, then it changed to out of stock before I could pay. Even though I was logged in under my customer account

Has anybody else noticed Smyths has removed all the customer reviews for this product detailing various stores that were ‘holding this item’ until customers could get to store to collect.....? I currently have a complaint underway with Smyths after I turned up for store opening when stock was showing, only to be told when I arrived a 9am they had opened the doors early and sold them all! Definitely something underhand going on here I think

i contacted them after pre ordering on the 10th for an update to be told they do not know if or when you will get one and cannot guarantee before xmas. I have told them they best contact everyone or theres going to be lots of sad kids come xmas day!

That's terrible. I agree they should tell everyone. A lot of people have stopped looking based on this pre-order.

I have got 2 on pre order but I really don't think they will honour them. They had the pre-order option open for hours and I think they will let people down. Lets hope not!

I ordered one from toys r us in sept & was told canx! I was then lucky enough to get one from smyths. This came straight away! Three days later one from toys r us turned up!!! A colleague snapped it up. Fingers crossed smyths continue to deliver what that say.

They just tap your reservation number into a gun and it takes the money automatically from the card u used to pre order

It says on the text it will be held for 2 days, I got the text Friday and went on Saturday, I live 40 miles away so a bit of a pain really!! They only take the money when you arrive to collect so I guess if you don't collect within 2 days they release it back into stock

I’ve got a pre-order still showIng in progress- I managed to get the big surprise from Toys r us so have told my friend she can have the pre-order... if she goes to collect will they charge my card or can she pay on the day with cash? Anyone know? In the past I’ve always paid for pre orders when I ordered :/

Whenever I’ve collected pre-orders from Smyths they’ve always taken payment from the bank card details I used when purchasing the pre-order. And they do like to see proof as well.

I've cancelled my big LOL ball order as I got one from Tesco. I have also cancelled my hatchimals egg carton as they said they would have it delivered to me by the 30th of October. I messaged them yesterday and asked where it was to be told that there is now no stock till the 20th of November which got me thinking that they can't be trusted.. 🤔🤔

I had this happen last year with hatchimals......it really should be honoured, I would think Smyths have had a guarantee from manufacturer that shot kck will be in store or warehouse by a certain date and quantity that's why they are allowing more preorders.....I would've thought you would get yours in the first wave that's received....good luck hopefully you arnt waiting long

Thankyou stock informer, just managed to reserve one at rotherham store for preorder......I'm hoping it's as successful this way as it was last year with the hatchimals, my little girl has autism and this us the only thing she gas asked for and I'm sure I've aged a bit each time I'm looking for stick updates. I could preorder a couple of weeks ago but was on dodgy wifi abroad and really didn't want to put my bank details in then...my heart skipped a beat when I saw they could be preordered again ..

I got one too a few minutes afterwards , it will have your preorder number on it, when you preordered did it show you that at the end when you had put your card details in? Email is a confirmation of that number and telling you money won't be taken item has been despatched

I had a confirmation email and then an email about 40 mins later saying it was ready for collection (although in the meantime I had driven to shop and managaed to get one in store) :-)

I pre-order one in Liverpool Speke today and then panicked that it would go out of stock (Tesco did this to me) so I rang the store and they had about 10 in stock, I drove down and managed to get one (I can relax now) however when I got back I had an email saying my pre-order was ready to collect! Now thinking about picking this one up anyway incase someone at the school was unable to get one.
